Healthy Kids is a low-cost health insurance program for middle- to low-income Tulare County children ages 0-5, regardless of their immigration status.
Healthy Kids will provide the following health insurance for eligible children:
|
Health Net of California (1-888-231-9473)
Coverage includes:
- free well child visits
- free immunizations
- $5 copay for sick child doctor visits
- free in-patient care in the hospital
- $20 emergency room visits
- $5 per prescription
One doctor or clinic becomes your child's "medical home." A doctor seen regularly is considered a medical home. When a child is sick, that doctor knows the child, which makes it easier to find out what is wrong.
Your doctor's office or clinic can give you a phone number to call after regular hours if you have a sick child. Always check with your doctor first before going to the Emergency Room, unless your child's life is at risk. You can also call the free Nurse Advice Line to talk to a nurse who can advise you what to do. Call 1-800-327-0502.
For full explanation of your benefits or answers to your questions, call HealthNet directly or contact your CAA for help with talking to HealthNet.
